2020 Honda CR-V Facelift Sports a More Refined Look With New Bumper Design!
In addition to the hotly-anticipated all-new City, Honda Malaysia today announced that the 2020 CR-V facelift is now open for booking, and will be launched locally within the next three months in 2020.
Exterior wise, the cosmetic changes are restrained. In light of the one single exterior image provided by Honda Malaysia, the CR-V facelift will feature a redesigned front bumper with a more noticeable utilisation of dark plastics, emphasized by a chrome strip for a more downplayed and more tasteful look.
Similar to the 2020 Honda Civic, the CR-V facelift gets the same gloss-black panel treatment which replaces the large chrome ornament on the grille, though the slim chrome strip which connects both headlights still remains as before. The 18-inch wheels on the range-topping model have also been updated with a more conventional two-tone five twin-spoke design.

Although we have no image on the rear, a quick peek at the facelifted model launched in Thailand, we can expect to find a smoked tail lights assembly with a redesigned bumper at the back, and the turn indicators will feature sequential lighting patterns. Inside the CR-V facelift, will most likely feature an updated centre console with a Qi wireless charging pad, electrically-adjustable driver seats with memory function – a similar new feature that is also added to the all-new Honda Accord.
Other specifications confirmed by Honda Malaysia include a new powered tailgate with foot sensor, Honda LaneWatch camera that is now standard equipment across all variants, as well as the full suite of Honda Sensing advanced driver assistance system.
Crucially, Honda Malaysia has confirmed that Honda Sensing will also be available on the all-wheel-drive model, which points us in the direction that there is a strong likelihood we will see a range-topping all-wheel-drive model with all the bells and whistles.
Powering the range-topping variant (or variants) will still be the 1.5-litre VTEC turbocharged four-cylinder engine, mated to a CVT gearbox that sends 193 hp and 243 Nm of torque to the wheels. Although from the press release, it is unclear if the naturally-aspirated 2.0-litre mill will continue to power the base model 2020 Honda CR-V facelift.
