The JPJ reminds owners of “hellaflush” a summon of RM2,000 await them
The Road Transport Department Malaysia (JPJ) has posted a reminder of tyres with the fitment called “hellaflush” can be fined up to RM2,000 or six-month jail term.
“Hellaflush”, according to those in the know, is the modification deliberately pushing the wheels inwards to create an even more aggressive stance. All in the name of “fashion” and being a part of “automotive art and lifestyle”.
The JPJ reminds owners that this modification is against the law. Tyres with suspension modified to such extreme movement reduce the dynamic stability of the vehicle and reduce the braking effectiveness, increasing the risk of an accident.
If caught on the road, the owner can be prosecuted under ‘Sek. 6(1), Akta Pengangkutan Jalan 1987’, and face a fine of up to RM2,000 or a six-month jail term.
