What We Know About The Perodua D55L So Far
As the Perodua D55L is scheduled to launch virtually tomorrow, here are some details about the vehicle that we know so far.
According to sources, the D55L or also known as the Ativa will come in three variants which are the X, H and AV.
As for the colours, the X and H variants come with Glittering Silver, Granite Grey and Cobalt Blue options, while the H will also be given colour options in Pearl Diamond White and Pearl Delima Red.
However, the AV variant will be offered in all the options mentioned above except for the shade of Cobalt Blue. The AV variants will also be given a special option of two Pearl shades coupled with a black roof.
The Ativa will be equipped with Rocky’s 1KR-VET 1.0 litre turbo three-cylinder engine that will produce 98 hp at 6,000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque from 2,400 to 4,000 rpm. The sole transmission that will be offered is a CVT-type automatic that will send power to the front wheels of the vehicle.
From what we can see, the Ativa will come with generous safety features in their brand-new ASA 3.0 ADAS suite that will include Lane Keep Control, Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Adaptive Cruise Control.
Not only that, the vehicle will also be equipped with six airbags, stability control and even autonomous emergency braking.

One of the many noteworthy features that we are looking forward to is the Adaptive Driving Beam (ADB), which are also offered in Perodua D55L’s donor cars, the Daihatsu Rocky and Toyota Raize duo. The ADB is basically adaptive LED headlights which are a first for the company, making it one of the cheapest new models to have this feature.

The ADB uses both software and sensors to recognise other vehicles in oncoming traffic and will be able to turn off specific LEDs in order to prevent the light beam glaring onto other vehicles.
Prices of the X, H and AV variants start from RM 62,500, RM 67,300 and RM 72,600, respectively. These prices also include the current SST exemptions but are not inclusive of insurance.

Compared to its competitors, Proton X50’s starting price is RM 79,200, and both have good points. So, what do you think about the upcoming Perodua Ativa? Let us know more at the comments below!
