Leaking Gas Pipeline, Subang - Glenmarie Line Is Closed for 25 Days
The route from Subang heading to Glenmarie will be temporarily closed due to repair work on a leaking gas pipeline at the LRT 3 construction area at Jalan Persiaran Kerjaya, Section U1.
It is expected that the repair work will take 25 days before the road can be reused by the public.
Shah Alam District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Baharudin Mat Taib said the police received information about the utility transferment yesterday and understood that the leaking channel is currently the main channel that supplies natural gas to the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and surrounding areas.
According to Baharudin, the fire brigade recommended that this route be closed to ensure the safety of road users and residents in the surrounding area.
"For your information, the location of this road closure is the main route link from Subang to Glenmarie. If the full closure is carried out, it will cause severe congestion towards the Federal Highway towards Shah Alam.
"To avoid congestion, a contra route will be opened starting from the intersection of Temasya Kasih to the Palm Grove Building.
"The route distance between the two locations is about 350 meters. The time period for road closure and opening of contra routes is expected to be 25 days (repair period is expected to be completed)," he said in a statement today.

The picture shows the route from Subang towards Glenmarie which is closed and the contra route which is opened.
He added that during the 25 day period, patrols will be conducted by the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division (BSPT) of the Shah Alam IPD and the MRT to study the level of traffic congestion and also the safety of road users.
"Road users are advised to drive prudently, obey traffic signals and be careful when passing through the contra routes involved," Baharudin continued.
