The move was taken to ease the financial burden of the people who currently have to go through a challenging life in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis.
In fact, more and more people are starting to lose their source of income since the country was hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Acknowledging what its people have to endure, the Selangor State Government is willing to allocate a budget of RM1 million which will benefit at least 50,000 individuals.
“The transportation rebate is open to all Selangor citizens, regardless of age who are eligible for the vaccine.
"On June 9, I announced a transportation rebate limited to those aged 50 and above but this time, it is open to all walks of life, regardless of age," said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari in a statement.

The initiative is a strategic collaboration between the Menteri Besar of Selangor (Incorporation) (MBI) and Grab Malaysia.
Commenting further on the rebate, Amirudin said the method of subsidizing transportation costs is RM20 per person.
The fee includes the cost of a round trip fare of approximately RM10 for each one-way trip.

For interested residents, the rebate application can be made through www.platselangor.com.
It is important to note this rebate is only given for a travel period from July 1 to September 30.
Additionally, residents can utilize the GrabCar rebate to 40 selected PPVs around the state of Selangor.
Thank you Selangor state government!
