The All-New Subaru WRX Makes Debut In US Markets! Set To Go On Sale In 2022?

Earlier this month, Subaru Corporation revealed the all-new 2022 Subaru WRX to US markets. It is said to go on sale in 2022. 

The model made its debut in Japan as Impreza WRX in 1992 and was later introduced to the US in 2001. 

Built on the Subaru Global Platform for the first time, the WRX includes enhanced body and chassis updates. The redefined chassis geometry allows for a smoother suspension movement. Not only has the ground contact and stability have been improved, but it now also includes a dual-pinion electric power steering system. 

Under the hood is a 2.4-litre direct-injection Subaru BOXER turbo engine equipped with a Symmetrical AWD (All-Wheel drive) system that produces 271 hp at 5,600 rpm and 350 Nm of torque from 2,000 to 5,200 rpm. It is paired with the six-speed manual transmission and features three drive modes - Comfort, Normal and Sport - that can be selected through the Drive Mode Select function. 

Exterior highlights include a hexagon grille, wide and low front bumper and bulging fenders. As for the black trim comes with sport side garnishes on the front and rear fenders, as well as side sill spoilers that feature hexagon patterned aerodynamic texture to reduce air resistance. 

As for the interior, highlights include a sporty black finish with red stitching, a large high-definition centre information display that integrates the many functions located in the centre of the instrument panel, and newly designed RECARO front seats co-developed with RECARO that are available on select trims. 

With enhanced safety performance, the WRX has an upgraded EyeSight driver assist technology that comes with a standard wider viewing angle and a newly added electric brake booster.
