All new Subaru XV & XV GT Launched in Malaysia - Prices Start from RM139,788
TC Subaru Sdn Bhd has officially launched the Subaru XV and XV GT for 2022 in Malaysia.

The Subaru XV 2.0i-P EyeSight 2022 is priced at RM139,788, and the XV GT is retailed at RM146,788. The latest Subaru purchase also comes with a five-year or 100,000 km warranty, whichever comes first.
Both latest XVs are offered in six colours, namely Crystal Black Silica, Magnetite Gray Metallic, Ice Silver Metallic, Dark Blue Pearl, Pure White and Cool Gray Khaki.

With the revamped model, the engine is powered by a cylinder boxer petrol engine, 4 cylinders, 16 DOHC valves, direct injection of petrol fuel, which provides 154 hp output power at 6,000 rpm and 196 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm where power is channelled to all wheels via Lineartronic CVT transmission with manual mode seven-speed.
New features available on both variants in terms of safety are EyeSight's Advanced Driver Assistance technology which includes Pre-Collision Braking & throttle management, Lane Exit Warning & Lane Sway Warning as well as Adaptive Cruise Control & moving front car warning.
Other standard safety features available on both XV and XV GT are ABS 4 sensor or 4 channel with electronic brake distribution, active vector torque, brake assist, brake override, engine paralysis, ISOFIX, safety pedal system, SRS Airbags (front, knee, side and window), side door reinforcement beams, vehicle dynamic control system (VDC), rear camera, PIN code access and electronic parking brake.

The XV GT is presented with a Three-Sixty Superview Around Recognition system, which is four cameras that are placed around the car to facilitate drivers when parking and the presence of ‘Dual-Function X-Mode’ technology which allows drivers more confidence when operating the vehicle while driving off-road.
Meanwhile, with the model’s SI-DRIVE (Subaru Intelligent Drive) existence, the engine can be adjusted due to response based on the driving style resulting in better performance and agility of the car.
Next, the ‘Auto Vehicle Hold’ feature can facilitate drivers during traffic jams or in hilly areas. This system allows the car to remain stopped after the brakes are stepped on and released.
Another new feature is a side mirror that automatically directs the view while reversing. This will make it easier for the driver when entering the parking box.
Externally, both variants come with 17-inch rims, shark fin antennas, spoilers and roof rails, front and rear fog lights, LED headlights with automatic adjustment, LED DRL, side mirrors with LED round lights, as well as lamp cleaners front (headlamp washer).

A more rugged variant, the XV GT comes with a stylish exterior that has a bottom spoiler along with lip extension for the front and rear bumpers, side skirts and also a 17-inch rim for the special version of the Subaru GT Edition.

For the cabin, both variants come with automatic adjustment to 8 directions and memory function on the driver, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay infotainment system, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, multifunctional steering with cruise control and one-touch turn signal. The car also comes with an engine start button and a keyless access system.
Meanwhile, the GT's sportier edition has leather-wrapped seats with coloured stitching.

During the exclusive session with the media, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Tan Chong International Ltd., Glenn Tan, also commented on the issue of the shortage of semiconductor chips that plagues the global automotive industry. He informed that the supply of chips for local assembly (CKD) is still manageable.
“Outback should be launched this year. Due to the lack of chips, we had to postpone it to next year,” said Tan.
