Chery exports jump 41 percent, boosting YTD to record 112k units
A new record for Chery company, a total of 27,434 vehicles were sold outside China in May or an increase of 41.1 percent (YOY) resulting the company’s best export month so far this year.
On top of that, it adds up to an export total within the first five months of 2022 to 112,427 units. In May, Chery Group announced a total of 85,380 vehicles has been sold globally.
This means it’s an increase of 29.7 percent year on year (YOY) bringing its sales total for the first five months of 2022 to 370,066 units equivalent to a rise of 6.2 percent year on year (YOY).
The Tiggo 2 series is the current SUV segment leader in Chile, with 5,030 units sold from January to May.

According to Asociación Nacional Automotriz de Chile A.G. (ANAC), Chery cumulatively sold 12,992 vehicles in Chile from March to May, yielding a cumulative market share of 7 percent and placing it second, ahead of many mainstream brands.
Distinct from the global version already on sale in many markets, the Tiggo 8 Pro became the newest member of the Tiggo 8 family when it launched in China on 18 May.
Meanwhile, still fresh from being rated as the vehicle with the best resale value in Brazil, the Arrizo 6 continued to sell well and ranked fourth in the sedan segment with a 4.02 percent market share.
This year calculated 62,439 vehicles under the Tiggo 8 series have found homes worldwide including 17,587 units outside China.
Several nations currently use Tiggo 8 series models as presidential and state-level reception vehicles as a testament to the quality, strength, and stature of Chinese brands today.
According to Brazil’s National Motor Vehicle Distribution Federation (Fenabrave), Chery ranked in the top 10 amongst automotive brands with a cumulative market share of 2.89 percent in May.
Exports-wise, Chery Group maintained its strong momentum in many markets amidst pandemic, logistics and transportation-related challenges.
