Designed And Engineered To Suit The Urbanites, The Newly Upgraded 2022 Mazda CX-8

Stylishly designed and engineered to flexibly suit the urbanites, Mazda’s first mid-size crossover SUV, the CX-8, has been elevated for the 2022 model.
Specifically, besides getting a new variant, the recently unveiled Mazda CX-8 now also rides with new updated features.

First off, the 2022 CX-8’s newly added features come in terms of the driving comfort and convenience aspect, which is standard across all the variants.
They include GVC Plus, additional USB ports for 3rd row passengers, a 7-inch Instrument Cluster, 6-way power seat for front passenger, handsfree powered tailgate and auto-folding mirrors.

As for distinct variant enhancements, the CX-8 2.5L Mid and High variants get updated leather seats in Black, while the 2.5L High Plus variants retain the Nappa leather in Deep Red finishing.
On top of that, the 2.5L High Plus and above variants get Gunmetal finishing on its front grille and Chrome bumper garnish, and front seats with heated and ventilation functions.

Plus, an updated i-Activsense that includes a new Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS), High Beam Control (HBC), front/rear Smart Brake Support (SBS) and Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) with stop and go.
Whereas, for the CX-8 2.5L High variant and above, they get an updated grille design, LED Signature headlamps and LED interior lamps.

Those latter models also received wireless charger and wireless Apple Carplay, which is accessible through the 8-inch Mazda Connect Infotainment display.
Other than that, as aforementioned a new variant has been added for the CX-8, which is the SKYACTIV-G 2.5L Turbo.

This variant’s engine delivers 228 hp and 420 Nm of torque with a maximum speed of 200 km/h. Power is transmitted via an All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) system.
However, for the SKYACTIV-D 2.2L engine, it now sports a 2WD system. Be it so, the seating configuration and powertrain of the 2022 Mazda CX-8 remains the same.

Speaking of which, all variants are paired with Mazda’s SKYACTIV-DRIVE six-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode.
That’s not all, the 2022 CX-8 has also been enhanced with a new system called the G-Vectoring Control Plus (GVC Plus).

GVC Plus is a unique human-centred initiative that controls and stabilises the vehicle behaviour at high speed when cornering.
It applies brake force lightly to the outer wheels as the steering wheel is returned to the centre position. The GVC Plus now comes as standard in all the 2022 Mazda CX-8 variants.

Last but not least, the colours. They include Soul Red Crystal, Machine Gray, Snowflake White Pearl, Deep Crystal Blue, Jet Black and two new hues, Platinum Quartz and Polymetal Gray.
Pricing-wise, it starts from RM 177,674.40, inclusive of a five-year manufacturer warranty and a five-year free maintenance, with a mileage limit of 100,000 km, whichever comes first.
