The Ducati Panigale V4 and V4 S have just been released by Next Bike Sdn Bhd, a month after the brand's flagship products, six new Ducati models, were introduced to the Malaysian market.

Priced at RM145,900 and RM188,900 respectively, the two machines will receive a thorough upgrade for 2022 that addresses five key areas: aerodynamics, ergonomics, engine, chassis, and electronics, making both V4 and V4 S even faster on the racetrack, more user-friendly, and suitable for a variety of riders.

Here are the highlighted features of the 2022 Panigale V4 and V4S models:

- Increase in power to 215.5hp at 13,000rpm

- New Power Mode logic: Full, High, Medium, Low engine configurations

- New ‘Track evo’ screen info mode

- New Öhlins NPX 25/30 electronically controlled pressurized fork (Panigale V4S)

- 3-spoke forged aluminum alloy wheels (Panigale V4S)

- Pirelli DiabloTM Supercorsa SP tyres

- Brembo Stylema monobloc calipers

The new Panigale V4 and V4S's 1,103 cc Desmosedici Stradale MotoGP-derived engine still powers both models, but it has undergone a number of improvements thanks to the addition of specialised technical components that enable an increase in power and even quicker throttle response.

Maximum output has increased from 215.5 horsepower at 13,000 revolutions per minute (rpm) to 215.5 horsepower at 14,500 rpm, a 2.5 horsepower gain over the previous model.

The engine also produces a maximum torque of 123.6 Nm at 9,500 rpm and 80 percent of the maximum torque possible at 6,000 rpm.

An revised Power Mode strategy using four engine configurations—Full, High, Medium, and Low—is available on the 2022 Panigale V4 and V4S. While the High and Medium Modes, which were carried over from the previous generation, now employ a new tactic, the Full and Low modes are freshly devised.

The Panigale V4 and V4S's brand-new Full Power Mode is the most aggressive configuration ever used. The new mode enables the engine to express its full potential, with every gear except first offering an electronic-filter-free torque curve. It is a highly concentrated sports-oriented Power Mode.

Use of this Power Mode is advised on racetracks with quick bends, lengthy straightaways, and exceptionally high levels of grip.

The Panigale V4 and V4S's dashboard has also undergone a number of changes for 2022. The first is the replacement of the flashing rev counter with exterior LEDs, similar to those on SBK cycles, to signal a gear change. This shortens response times and raises the standard of the rider's feedback.

"Track Evo," a new Info Mode that was created based on suggestions from MotoGP riders, has also been launched.

It is a new setting that has been added to the Road and Track screen settings. The tachometer rotates on a horizontal scale that is placed in the highest and most prominent area of the "Track Evo" screen mode.

There are four parts on the right side of the screen, each showing the state of a distinct electronic control.

Updates have also been made to the bike's appearance and ergonomics. The Ducati Centro Stile has a unique red tag on black rims (only for V4S models), a black colour logo application on the complete red fairings, and a double fabric saddle (two-tone on the V4S).

Improvements to the tank and the seat themselves have led to better ergonomics and control of the bike in all riding scenarios.
