Two further variations of the Haval H6 received 5-Star ratings at the Australasia New Car Assessment Program, demonstrating the vehicle's continued commitment to safety (ANCAP). Previously, the Haval H6 petrol version received the highest score; this time, the Haval H6 hybrid does so.

The car is powered by a 130 kW electric motor coupled to a 1.5 litre four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine. The engine's combined output is 243 PS and 530 Nm. The front wheels receive power from the engine using a dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT) with two gears.

The hybrid version of the H6 is put through additional testing in addition to the standard examination in order to verify the battery's reliability and the safety of high voltage electrical systems.

In addition, the H6 Hybrid achieved 90 percent for adult occupancy protection, compared to 88 percent for kid occupancy protection, same like the gasoline versions. The H6 received a score of 73% for protecting vulnerable road users, while safety assist testing yielded an 81 percent result.

A full suite of ADAS features, including autonomous emergency braking (AEB) with pedestrian, cyclist, and crosswalk detection, lane-keep assistance, lane departure warning, blind-spot detection and lane-change assistance, forward-collision warning, and traffic sign recognition, are also included with the H6 Hybrid.

Currently, the Haval H6 Hybrid costs THB 1,149,000 (about RM 142,000) in Thailand. The hybrid is the H6 model that costs the most.

The parent company of Haval, Great Wall Motor (GWM), has only recently made an official comeback to Malaysia. The company declared during the unveiling that it intended to launch hybrids (HEV) in the country.
