Meet The Latest Chinese SUV; The Haval Cool Dog
Meet the Haval Cool Dog, a new Chinese SUV with a striking and seemingly unforgettable design!
Below the Haval Big Dog comes a small SUV called the Cool Dog. With a straight snout, high waistline, and short front and rear overhangs, it has a boxy off-road appearance. Dimensions: 4520/1875/1745, with a wheelbase of 2710.
With black cladding over the wheels and in front of the doors, the car has a somewhat tough appearance. Whatever the body colour, the A, B, and C pillars are painted in silver. That could be acceptable on a black car, but it looks strange on this green one.
The most intriguing part of the Cool Cat's design is its relatively small back window and upward-extending spare wheel cover. The D-pillar is quite narrow, and the black bumpers and racy brake light on top of the roof are plain in appearance. It's a bit of an odd combination of design components, yet it works.
With its clean lines, strong plastics, and roomy centre tunnel, the interior is also off-road-like. Faux-carbon panelling and lavish yellow-black leather seats serve as adornment.
The graphics are excellent, with the GPS in the centre and several features on the sides.
12.3 inches is the size of the infotainment system's primary display. The entertainment system has a KTV feature, which is becoming more and more common in China. Many Chinese auto manufacturers installed VCD-based KTV systems with tiny screens in the dash and the back of their vehicles in the early 2000s.
Of course, everything is cloud-based now. Thunderstone, the app found in the Cool Dog, is also found in vehicles built by Tesla China, Li Auto, Lynk & Co, Weltmeister, Aion, and Leap Motor.
Lever for a gear looks pretty tough. The 1.5 turbo has 184 horsepower and 275 Nm of torque. Other GWM automobiles with this engine are widely available.
A 7-speed DCT is connected to it. Front-wheel drive will be standard on base models and four-wheel drive on premium models.
The JVC 18-speaker sound system in the Cool Dog features beautiful speakers in the headrests. These are becoming increasingly common on new cars in China lately. But this is the first time we've ever noticed a JVC audio system on a Chinese vehicle.
The Japanese company hasn't yet had much success in China's auto market. JVC and GWM collaborated to build the Cool Dog's system, spending 28 million yuan in the process. Other GWM vehicles will soon get JVC audio as well.
With square-shaped lights with circular lenses and a grille with split vertical bars, the front is almost as intriguing as the back. Once more, the bumper design is fairly straightforward and appears to be equipped to handle any ding in the urban jungle.
The Haval Cool Dog will make its debut on the Chinese auto market soonest with the price range of 120.000 to 150.000 yuan. With this pricing, it is directly rivalled by four different Haval vehicles.
