Sarawak Deputies Receive Hydrogen-Powered Toyota Mirai

It appears that three units of hydrogen-powered Toyota Mirai sedan will be handed over to three reputable Sarawak deputies during its offical handover ceremony in Kuching today.
As reported by Sarawak local news, the stylish sedan ought to be driven by Deputy Premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, and Datuk Seri Dr. Sim Kui Hian as their official cars.

Also present during the ceremony were Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) Chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Abdul Aziz Husain and Deputy Minister of Rural Planning, Land Administration, and Environment Datuk Len Talif Salleh.
Thus, it seems like eight units of Toyota Mirai were delivered to the state government including those four units handed over to SEDC Energy, apart from the single unit that Premier Abang Johari received earlier in January.

“In Sarawak, we have a few vehicles driven by hydrogen power such as the Hyundai (Nexo) as well as hydrogen-powered buses. Now our latest hydrogen vehicle is the Toyota Mirai’’.
Through this movement, the state government appears to be getting along with implementation of green energy which includes numerous initiatives as well as production of hydrogen in its own plantations.

“This high-tech car can travel on a single ‘tank’ of hydrogen of 1,000km, which is the distance from Kuching up to Limbang,” he recently told Borneo Post.
Aptly, the Toyota Mirai tank refueling takes up approximately three to four minutes, claims Abang Jo.
Separately, Sarawak locals also receive its second PETROS multi-fuel station in Daro, Mukah after its first station constructed in Kuching. The multi-fuel refueling claims to offer hydrogen and electric charging for EVs aside from regular petrol and diesel.
