This Red Bull F1 Show Car Simulator is As Expensive As A Porsche 911!
Formula 1 (F1) is, was, and will always be the pinnacle of motorsport, featuring some of the greatest drivers on the planet, driving the fastest and most technologically-advanced vehicles mankind has ever crafted. Notoriously known for its utter difficulties and the stress level drivers are being put on, it is somewhat ‘unattainable’ for normal folks like us to ever get a taste of this mean machine.
But if you somehow got a US$120,000 (RM538,000 approx.) hole to burn on the closest experience in driving a proper F1 car instead of a brand-new Porsche 911, then this thing might be for you.
Reigning Formula 1 World Constructors’ Champion Red Bull Racing (RBR) has teamed up with F1 to introduce and sell the 2022 Oracle Red Bull Racing RB18 Show Car Simulator. This racing game rig is essentially the front half part of Red Bull’s F1 championship-winning car, minus the front wheel axles and additional aero bits around the monocoque.
Interestingly, the extravagant gaming rig shares beyond its look with its real-life twin, as it’s being built using the same CAD data harvested directly from Red Bull’s database – ensuring the closest real-life likeness money can buy. Inside the cockpit, the show car features standard racing rig equipment like adjustable gaming pedals, Rexing F1 steering wheel with paddle shifters and Red Bull logo, as well as an ultra-wide curved gaming monitor by AOC.
In charge of mimicking the high-revving engine sound of the RB18 is a Z906 Ultimate THX Surround Sound system. Unfortunately, details on the computing hardware are yet to be disclosed, but one should expect a hefty, cutting-edge one, especially at this premium price tag.
The RB18 Show Car Simulator comes in two versions, namely the standard Show Car variant which deletes the RB18’s front wing, priced at US$90,447 (RM405,700), as well as the up-specced Championship Edition, which truly resembles the real-life counterpart the most, priced at a whopping $120,596 (RM540,933). Said prices do not include the shipping costs, which is about £500 (RM2,731) in the UK, and could go up to £18,000 (RM98,319), depending on which part of the globe you live in.
Apart from the two car options, the gaming rig also features what Memento Exclusives described as the “best market-leading options.” But one option that we know is that customers can pick between Max Verstappen’s championship-winning livery or go for Sergio Perez’s.
