Honda City Facelift Now Open for Booking – Launching Soon?

Fifth-gen Honda City facelift is officially coming to Malaysia!
Honda Malaysia has officially opened the order books for the Honda City sedan facelift model. This facelifted model launch marks the second ‘new’ model launch by the automaker after the new WR-V, as per its plan to launch at least four new models this year, including a facelifted one.

Just like the Thai-spec City facelift, the Malaysia-bound facelifted model will also get a slew of minor cosmetic upgrades, as well as few safety-related updates. For the range-topping e:HEV RS variant, the City facelift will get new front fascia, featuring new front bumper design, new front grille honeycomb mesh pattern, as well as new lower front grille design with faux carbon fibre-like lip added.

Elsewhere, the facelifted RS model also gets new rear ‘diffuser’ finished in faux carbon fibre and side skirts, while riding on newly-designed 16-inch alloy wheels with dual-tone finish.
In terms of powertrain spec, the facelifted City e:HEV RS variant still employs the same hybrid setup that consists of a 1.5-litre 4-cyl nat-asp Atkinson Cycle mill rated at 97 HP and 127 NM that is mated to two electric motors and an e-CVT automatic gearbox.
As for the safety upgrade, the facelifted City RS will get an updated Honda SENSING advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) suite, which adds two new ADAS functions – Low Speed Follow (LSF) and Lead Car Departure Notification (LCDN). Other existing ADAS features like Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Forward Collision Warning (FCW) can still be found on this facelifted sedan.
Aside from that, Honda Malaysia remains tight-lipped about the prices of the facelifted model, as well as the rest of the detailed facelift treatment for other variants.

For reference, the Thai-spec City Facelift gets the same styling and safety upgrades as us, plus a minor equipment upgrade for the interior, which includes new seats with leather and suede upholstery, and many more. Unlike the WR-V, upmarket features like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay-enabled infotainment system are still reserved for higher variants of the City facelift.

Honda Malaysia's official pre-booking website suggests that the City facelift will come in six variants
However, as we scroll through Honda Malaysia’s official pre-book website, we discovered that the facelifted City is now offered in a non-hybrid RS guise – first-time offered for the fifth-gen City in Malaysia. Plus, the existence of both 1.5 V and 1.5 V-Sensing variants also might indicate that not all variants of the City facelift will get Honda SENSING safety suite as standard like in the Thailand market.

The Honda City sedan facelift is poised to make its market entry in Q3 this year, with bookings now can be made at Honda Malaysia’s official booking site, via HondaTouch mobile application, or visit any authorised Honda dealers nearby.
