Launched: 2023 BMW X1 sDrive20i xLine – CKD, From RM259,800

BMW Group Malaysia sees its line-up refreshed with the new third-gen (U11) BMW X1 announced today.
BMW Group Malaysia refreshed its line-up once more as it announces the availability of the third generation (U11) X1 compact crossover SUV model earlier today. This is the traditional combustion-powered twin of the iX1 model launched back in May this year during the Malaysia Autoshow 2023.
For Malaysia, the third-gen X1 arrives as a locally assembled (CKD) offering, rolling off Inokom’s assembly line in Kulim, Kedah, as how its predecessor did. Secondly, the model is presently offered in sole sDrive20i xLine guise, for now.

Assembled locally (CKD) is the new X1 sDrive20i xLine model featuring a distinct design touch.
First shown globally in June last year, the U11-gen X1 has grown in size over the model it replaces, and it comes primed with a bevy of new tech on board too. Highlights of the latter include the new BMW Curved Display module and BMW Live Cockpit Plus, both powered using the latest BMW Operating System 8 too.
Other key features present on board include dual-zone automatic air conditioning, elevated front Sport seats in Sensatec, the new M leather steering wheel with paddle-shifters, wireless charging pad, BMW ID, up to six selectable My Modes features, as well as Comfort Access and the BMW Digital Key Plus.

On board, the X1 is now larger in size, whilst tech and features present largely mirror what's seen in its all-electric iX1 twin.
As for powertrain, the sDrive20i trimline see this compact crossover SUV adopt a familiar 2.0-litre Twin Power 4-cyl turbo petrol mill developing 204 HP and 300 NM. Drive goes to the front wheels via a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission.
Altogether, the setup sees 0-100 KM/H despatched in 7.6 seconds and V-max of 236 KM/H. Whilst on the powertrain still, BMW also claims this setup can sip as low as 7.2 litres/100 KM on average. On top of which comes its equally low and green 158 g/KM average carbon emissions.

A familiar 2.0-litre turbo 4-cyl mill powers the X1 sDrive20i xLine's front wheels with 204 HP and 300 NM.
Next, a full array of active driver assist (ADAS) features are primed as standard too. Included are Hill Start Assist, Speed Limiter, Attentiveness Assistant, Lane Departure Warning with active steering intervention, Front Collision and Left Turn Warnings - both with braking function, as well as the Evasion Assistant.
As for styling, the xLine guise sees this X1 don a kidney grille treated with a Pearl Chrome frame and high-gloss Black slats, chrome outer air intakes in the front bumper, dark grey accents, 19-inch V-Spoke Style 867 Bicolour wheels, stylised Matte Aluminium underride protection panel, and silver side mirror caps.

Five paintjob options are available for the X1 sDrive20i xLine.
A total of five exterior paintjob options are available, all paired with a cabin lined in Black Perforated Sensatec upholstery and M Headliner Anthracite.
As for price, the new BMW X1 sDrive20i xLine is now open for orders through authorised dealers at RM259,800. Said price includes a 5-year, unlimited mileage warranty coverage with free scheduled service, BMW Roadside Assistance and Accident Hotline privileges, as well as access to BMW Service Online.
