As noted in yesterday's launch report, the new Proton S70, available across four variants - 1.5T Executive, 1.5T Premium, 1.5T Flagship, and 1.5T Flagship X - scored itself an impressive 5-star rating in the New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP).
On top of which, said Malaysianised version of the Geely Emgrand even garnered outstanding overall score of 82.95 points under the ASEAN NCAP 2021-2025 tests protocol.

Notably, the Proton S70 fared remarkably well in terms of motorcycling safety (MS) with its 13.75/20.00 points score, as well as child occupant protection (COP) where it garnered 17.02/20.00 points.
Predictably, the S70 also scored grestly on the safety assist (SA) front - 15.71/20.00 points, whilst adult occupant protection (AOP) scores of 36.46/40.00 stand equally impressive too, according to ASEAN NCAP.

Six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Seat Belt Reminder System (SBR) for front and rear occupants, bi-directional Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Child Presence Detection (CPD), Pedestrian Protection technology, and Rear Collision Warning (RCW) are amongst the many safety features primed as standard kit in the Proton S70.

Additionally, the sedan comes equipped with advanced safety assist technologies as an option on some variants. Included are features likes Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keep Assist (LKA), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) City, AEB Inter-Urban, AEB Pedestrian, Auto High Beam (AHB), and Fatigue Driving Reminder System (FDRS).
It is worth noting that the AEB and BSD in the S70 were thoroughly evaluated by the ASEAN NCAP, which also included a physical test to ensure that the AHB operated in accordance with ASEAN NCAP protocols.

Proton, renowned for its unwavering dedication to auto safety, has constantly given innovative active safety technology and powerful passive safety protection top priority in its models. With 5-star ASEAN NCAP ratings, the X50, X70, and X90 SUVs were a notable success and demonstrated the brand's ongoing commitment to vehicle safety partly thanks to its partnership with Geely.

This dedication is maintained by the Proton S70 sedan, which not only draws enthusiasts in with its sleek features and stable driving characteristics but also guarantees a high degree of safety for its passengers and other road users who may be more vulnerable.
