Bermaz Auto Berhad (Mazda Malaysia) has updated the Mazda CX-3 SUV crossover for 2023 MY

Aside from the updated Mazda 2 sedan and hatchback, Mazda brand custodian Bermaz Auto Berhad has also introduced the newly-updated Mazda CX-3 compact SUV crossover earlier today. For this 2023 model year (2023MY) update, the new CX-3 gets a slew of new and upgraded equipment for both the exterior and interior.

The 2023 MY update sees Bermaz dropping the 1.5L Core variant from the CX-3's Malaysian lineup

For the 2023 MY update, Bermaz has dropped the baseline 1.5L Core variant of the CX-3, making the 1.5L Plus model as the new baseline spec for this SUV model. Both the 1.5L Plus and 2.0 Plus models now come standard with full LED headlights with DRLs, auto-folding side mirrors, as well as additional rear parking sensors. Meanwhile, the range-topping CX-3 2.0L High variant receives new 18-inch alloy wheels, while other exterior equipment remains the same as before.

Similar to the Japan-spec CX-3, the updated CX-3 now comes with new Aero Grey exterior colour

Plus, Bermaz has also added a new Aero Grey exterior hue for all variants of the 2023MY CX-3, making a total of seven colours available aside from Snowflake White Pearl, Jet Black, Machine Grey, Polymetal Grey, Soul Red Crystal, as well as Platinum Quartz – the latter exclusively offered to 2.0L High variant.

On board, both the 1.5L Plus and 2.0L Plus variants are now equipped with a paddle shifter behind its steering wheel, while its 8-inch Mazda Connect central infotainment display now supports wireless Apple CarPlay connectivity. Aside from that, the cabin remains unchanged from the pre-update model, featuring the same plush leather upholstery for its seats and various trims, and many more.

As for the safety equipment, both models now come standard with four additional airbags, bringing a total of six airbags. Meanwhile, some of the i-Activsense safety features from the 2.0L High variant are now being offered to both the 1.5 Plus and 2.0 Plus models, adding ADAS functions like High Beam Control(HBC), Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), and Smart City Brake Support (SCBS).

The updated CX-3 is still offered with both the 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre versions of the Skyactiv-G engine

On the powertrain front, the updated CX-3 model is still offered with the same powertrain options as its predecessor. The baseline 1.5L Plus model gets a 1.5-litre 4-cyl Skyactiv-G mill rated at 114 HP and 149 NM, while both the 2.0L Plus and 2.0 High variants share the same 2.0-litre 4-cyl Skyactiv-G mill that outputs 154 HP and 206 NM. Both engines are mated to Mazda’s proprietary Skyactiv-Drive 6-speed automatic gearbox, which sends all the power to the front wheels (FWD).

You can now place a booking on the updated Mazda CX-3 2023 MY, with prices starting from RM115,720

Fully-imported (CBU) from Thailand, the 2023 MY Mazda CX-3 is now on sale with a selling price that starts from RM115,720 for the baseline 1.5L Plus variant, while the mid- and top-specced 2.0 Plus and 2.0 High models are tagged at RM126,159 and RM139,159 respectively.

As standard, all variants of the CX-3 are offered with a 5-year or 100,000 KM warranty and free maintenance package included in said prices.
