New Toyota Innova Zenix Spotted In Malaysia - Possible 2023 Launch?
Six units of the All-New Toyota Innova Zenix have been spotted here in Malaysia by RiderATH being transported on a vehicle carrier. With this sighting, we're certain the new model is due to launch into the local market soon enough, perhaps sometime this year even.
The all-new third generation Toyota Innova Zenix made its global debut last year in the Indonesian market as the Toyota Kijang Innova Zenix. This Toyota staple, made-for-ASEAN 7-seat MPV has been completely reworked from the ground up, boasting a new SUV-like stance.
It also harnesses new direct-injected powertrains, including a hybrid petrol-electric powertrain package, as well as a front-wheel-drive (FWD) setup - both seen for the first time in the Innova model's history.
The All-New Toyota Innova Zenix introduced in Indonesia also sport an all new cabin with the familiar 3 row, 7 or 8 seat configuration, now reworked with a new premium outlook with a dash of current tech and amenities.
Depending on variant, highlights include a floating central infotainment touchscreen unit plus a digital instrument display panel, a panoramic glass sunroof, dual 10-inch rear entertainment screens, as well as a voice-command and powered tailgate, amongst many. How much of which will be offered for Malaysians remains to be seen.
As for the powertrain, the Indonesian market received the Dynamic Force 2.0-litre 4-cyl unit and CVT automatic transmission. Next to which is a Hybrid option with an e-CVT transmission. It features a dual electric motor plus battery setup which, according to Toyota, is similar to the ‘5th Gen HEV’ tech primed in the new Prius. This new Hybrid system even enables users to manually select a full EV mode, especially when going through heavy traffic.
Now given that it is just a matter when this All-New Toyota Innova Zenix would be made available here, its price would surely be widely speculated. In Indonesia, the 2.0G CVT base model goes for rougly RM133,000, while the base hybrid variant starts at roughly RM143,000.
Should UMW Toyota be able to emulate similar strategy and figures here in Malaysia, there's a high chance the All-New Toyota Innova Zenix could once again be a run-away success, just as how its predecessor was.
