Phase Two Of ECRL Ready By End Of 2027 - Loke
Phase two of The East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) between Gombak and Port Klang is expected to be finished by December 31, 2027, according to Transport Minister Anthony Loke. The minister announced on October 9 that the 665-kilometer rail project connecting the Klang Valley to the East Coast was 72.93% complete as of the end of September of this year.
Additionally, Loke anticipates that the Gombak Integrated Transport Terminal/Kota Baru ECRL phase one will be finished by December 31, 2026. He added that his ministry had finished a feasibility study on the kinds of goods that the rail project is anticipated to carry for the next 30 years or more of its service life.

“Projections show an increase in delivery of commodities such as automotive, coal, petrochemicals, palm oil products and so on to the ports.
“As such, various types of wagons will be provided by ECRL to accommodate the cargo such as flatbed wagons, open-top wagons and box wagons with the number of each specific needed wagon also having been projected.
“The design of each ECRL station has also taken this into account to ensure that durability and safety levels remain up to par,” Loke wrote in a parliamentary written reply dated Monday (Nov 11).
