The 4 Hours of Abu Dhabi endurance race served as the season finale of the Asian Le Mans (ALMS) 2023/24 season last weekend at the picturesque Yas Marina circuit, Abu Dhabi. Following an intense final hour melee, the Triple 8 JMR (Johor Motorsport Racing) outfit emerged victorious in the event’s GT Class.
Piloting the team’s Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo racecar were the trio of Luca Stolz, Jordan Love, and the Tunku Panglima Johor Tunku Abdul Rahman Sultan Ibrahim – better known as Prince Jefri Ibrahim.

The intense final hour battle mentioned ensued after a one-hour red flag stoppage time. Out of which, Triple 8 JMR had initially taken the checkered flag in second place in the GT Class category. The class win initially went to the #19 Leipert Motorsport Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO 2 entry.
However, the latter team were handed a post-race penalty from the stewards for a driving time infringement and were demoted to 7th position. In turn, this effectively saw the Triple 8 JMR entry promoted a position up from second to first, thus granting them victory in class.

The trio avoided major drama and incidents to claim second place in class initially. However, a post-race penalty issued to initial winners promoted Triple 8 JMR up a position to claim the class win.

Separately, JMR also took to its official Facebook page earlier today to share the victory. “We look forward to returning to ALMS in the future, and climbing that next step on the podium,” added the team in the same status update.
