Kuala Lumpur police have identified 14 accident-prone stretches, or blackspots, along with 61 high-traffic hotspot areas, as part of Op Lancar - an initiative to manage traffic congestion and enhance road safety during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri festive period.

The operation, which began on March 2, will continue until April 6.

According to Kuala Lumpur Deputy Police Chief Datuk Azry Akmar Ayob, the identified blackspots include major roads and highways such as:

  • Jalan Tun Razak
  • Jalan Kuching
  • Jalan Ipoh
  • Jalan Kepong
  • Jalan Loke Yew
  • Jalan Syed Putra
  • Jalan Cheras
  • Duta-Ulu Kelang Expressway (DUKE)
  • Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2)
  • Kuala Lumpur-Seremban Highway
  • Besraya Highway
  • Maju Expressway (MEX), formerly known as the Kuala Lumpur-Putrajaya Highway
  • Western Kuala Lumpur Traffic Dispersal Scheme (SPRINT)
  • Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Elevated Highway (SUKE)

To ensure smooth traffic flow, increased monitoring will be implemented in these areas throughout Op Lancar.

To manage traffic and enhance road safety, 17 senior officers and 320 personnel from the Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) will be deployed as part of Op Selamat 24.

Azry Akmar urged all road users to remain vigilant and adhere to traffic rules during the festive season to ensure a safe and smooth journey for everyone.
