Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) is giving its digital services a fresh new look with the launch of KITS Style SuperApp, a revamped system designed to make travelling, paying bills, booking hotels, and even shopping a whole lot easier.

Originally launched in 2020 as a basic ticketing platform, the app has now evolved into a full-fledged Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) solution to offer commuters not just a way to book train rides, but a smarter way to plan, move, and manage day-to-day errands in one place.

“This isn’t just a train ticket app anymore. With KITS Style, users can book train, flight, and hotel tickets, pay bills, shop online, transfer funds, and plan journeys using the built-in AI planner,” Loke said.

The minister emphasized that KTMB didn’t spend a cent of government money. Instead, it was developed through a strategic partnership with local fintech company ManagePay Systems Berhad (MPay). And the innovation doesn’t stop there. KTMB is also preparing to launch the KITS Style Mastercard Prepaid Card, the first open-loop transit prepaid card in Malaysia and ASEAN to be issued by a rail operator.

“The virtual version of this card is already available via the KITS Style application, while the physical card will be introduced in September. With this, the public will not only be able to access public transport within the country but also across Asean more conveniently and securely,” he said.
