The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) has rolled out a new corporate identity, signaling its push to modernize aviation regulation and prepare for the future of flight.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the refreshed image reflects Malaysia’s commitment to building a safer, more competitive aviation sector.

“Malaysia needs a strong and trusted regulator, one that ensures safety, protects consumers and keeps the industry competitive,” he said at the launch event.

Loke also announced that CAAM will introduce a regulatory framework for the “low-altitude economy”, covering drones, air taxis, aerial delivery services and even drone light shows to support industry growth while keeping skies safe.

“The low-altitude economy is a new field that we need to pioneer because it is very relevant to our economic development and aligns with the government’s mission and vision

“If we over-regulate too much, it will be difficult for any industry player to enter the market,” he told Bernama, stressing that regulations will be kept practical.

The minister said the agency will review outdated rules and streamline processes to cut bureaucracy and attract more players into Malaysia’s aviation space.

CAAM’s revamp follows its merger with the Malaysian Aviation Commission (MAVCOM) in August, giving it wider powers over economic regulation and consumer protection.

Loke called on industry players to work closely with CAAM to help position Malaysia as Southeast Asia’s top aviation and aerospace hub ahead of Visit Malaysia 2026.

“This new corporate identity is not just a new look for CAAM but a new promise that Malaysia’s skies will remain safe, our aviation sector resilient, and our future in global aviation secure,” he concluded.
