Hyundai Motor Malaysia has signed letters of intent with four dealer partners to expand its network with six new outlets.

Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY) has signed letters of intent (LOIs) with four dealer partners—BHS Auto Hyundai, Palm Auto, Anggerik Motor, and Heng Lian Enterprise—as part of its local network expansion strategy.

Through these LOIs, the Korean automaker is slated to expand its local dealership network by adding six new outlets, all located in "key high-potential cities," including Ipoh, Petaling Jaya, Senai, and Kuching, with these locations having been identified beforehand based on market demand, customer reach, and growth potential.

“These partnerships are a strategic plan designed for sustainable growth while ensuring the Hyundai brand is more accessible, reliable, and more responsive to our customers’ needs,” said Jahabarnisa Haja Mohideen, Managing Director of Hyundai Motor Malaysia.

“By strengthening our dealership network through the right partners in the right locations, we are establishing a strong platform to serve customers more effectively nationwide.”

This LOI signing came right after HMY penned an agreement with Edaran Otomobil Nasional (EON), which will see two new Hyundai dealerships open by the first half of 2026, with one located in Klang Valley and another in Penang.

More importantly, HMY said this recent LOI signing also marks Malaysia as one of the automaker’s key markets in their regional roadmap, while reflecting Hyundai’s focus on tailoring their global strategies to meet local market needs.

As of now, HMY currently has three combustion models in their lineup, namely the facelifted fourth-gen Tucson SUV, the new fifth-gen Santa Fe three-row SUV, and the now locally-assembled (CKD) Staria MPV.
