Mercedes-Benz CLA 220 Hybrid Detailed – Uses Geely 1.5T Heart
It appears tech specs of the 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLA 220 Hybrid variant have been released, and it sees the adoption of a 1.5-litre 4-cyl turbo heart co-developed with Geely.

It seems technical specifications of the new CLA 220 Hybrid variant of Mercedes-Benz’s third-gen compact saloon were released online.
One surprising trait here is the fact that that the German automaker has adopted a 1.5-litre 4-cyl turbo heart from Chinese automaker Geely.
According to sources in China, the CLA 220 Hybrid specifically adopts a brand new M252 petrol mill under its hood. Said mill stems from the three-point star marque’s Family of Modular Engines (FAME) series and was jointly developed with Geely.

Said new 1.5T 4-cyl mill stems from the marque's new FAME series of powertrains, and it's paired with a 48-volt hybrid setup. See details below...
This four-banger incorporates the Miller-cycle tech plus an integrated exhaust manifold in its cylinder head. This, according to the German automaker, reduces turbo lag, accelerates catalyst warm-up and allows for lean-burn combustion while maintaining outputs and lowering fuel consumption. Altogether, this mill has a claimed 188 hp output.
Paired with the mill is a 48-volt hybrid system that brings an e-motor integrated into the 8F-eDCT automatic transmission. Said e-motor is rated at 30 hp and 200 Nm, and it’s juiced by a compact 1.3 kWh battery pack.
Pure-electric drive is enabled when power demand is below 27 hp. Moreover, the hybrid setup also supports coasting at speeds above 97 km/h. As for energy recovery, this is available across all 8 cogs, with Mercedes-Benz touting a maximum energy recovery rate of 25 kW.
Altogether, the setup puts out a combined 208 hp and 380 Nm. Critically, it promises to be quite an efficient setup too.

Combined, this setup brimmed in the CLA 220 Hybrid puts out 208 hp and 380 Nm in total, which in turn allows for 0-60 mph (96 km/h) sprints achieved in 7.1 secs whilst enroute towards an electronically capped 210 km/h V-max.
Powertrain aside, the 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLA 200 Hybrid detailed also sees its cabin lined with a dual-layer partition and extended sound-deadening materials in both the A-pillars and floor for enhanced noise reduction.
Visually, this hybrid petrol-electric variant of the latest-gen CLA continues to mirror its all-electric (EV) twin’s exterior design. Notable touches include the chrome-accented star grille, as well as the distinct forward and rear LED lighting patterns.

Not only available in both fastback saloon and long-roofed 'shooting brake' forms, the new third-gen CLA also bring s a slew of high-tech amenities on board powered by the new MB.OS operating system.

As detailed prior, the new third-gen CLA stands as the nameplate’s ‘smartest’ iteration yet thanks to its adoption of the trick new MB.OS operating system loaded with Artificial Intelligence (AI) functions from both Google and Microsoft.
Said functions are accessed through a massive 14-inch central touchscreen and optional 14-inch passenger display. Drivers, on the other hand, get an equally rich and interactive 10.25-inch digital instrument panel.
The new 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLA 220 Hybrid detailed is reportedly set for market entry sometime in early 2026. For the Chinese market, said model will be produced locally through an existing partnership between the three-point star and Geely.
