The ban will be in effect on March 29 and 30, as well as on April 5 and 6.

The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has classified heavy vehicles into three categories, each with its own set of regulations throughout the ban period. Category 1 heavy vehicles are completely prohibited. Category 2 trucks are restricted between the hours of midnight and 8:00 a.m. Finally, Category 3 construction trucks are restricted in a 25-kilometer radius between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. 482855356_18494358523035774_5739151665420107989_n.jpg

“The Transport Ministry and JPJ urge all goods vehicle owners and drivers to comply with this restriction.

“Failure to do so may result in an RM300 compound or, if prosecuted in court, a fine of up to RM2,000 or imprisonment of up to six months,” he says. To improve road safety measures, a nationwide special operation would be carried out during Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2025. Scheduled to begin on March 24 and end on April 8, this operation intends to monitor, identify, and prosecute road users who violate established traffic laws and regulations, Loke stated.

Furthermore, it was reported that enforcement activities and special operations executed during the recent Chinese New Year demonstrated a notable 10% reduction in traffic accidents. Specifically, 7,882 cases were documented, in contrast to 8,784 incidents reported in the previous year.
