KL To Perlis And Back? 4 Reasons Why The Jetour T2 i-DM PHEV Is The Ultimate Road Trip SUV

If you love driving across multiple states for food hunts or family weekend getaways, but absolutely hate hunting for open EV charging stations or waiting in long petrol queues, Jetour might have just dropped your absolute dream ride.
Making its official local debut right on the show floor at the 2026 Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS), the brand-new Jetour T2 i-DM PHEV is officially open for bookings! Sitting at an estimated price tag of RM168,888, this takes the rugged, boxy design that Malaysians fell in love with earlier this year and packs a serious plug-in hybrid twist underneath.

How serious? Jetour claims this beast can push a combined driving range of over 1,200 km on a full charge and a single tank of fuel! To put that into perspective, that is literally enough to drive from KL to Perlis and back without needing a single pitstop to refuel or plug in.
Before you run over to MITEC to check it out this weekend, here are the 4 major reasons why this hybrid SUV is built for the ultimate Malaysian road trip:
1. The 100km Daily Cheat Code: Zero petrol on your weekday commute

While the massive 1,200 km total range handles your interstate holiday trips, the T2 i-DM PHEV doubles as a pure electric car during the working week. It is rated to give you over 100 km of pure EV-only driving range.
This means you can easily crawl through stop-and-go morning traffic on the Federal Highway, zip to your office, and head back home completely on battery power, leaving your petrol tank completely untouched until the weekend hits! Even better, the battery pack supports both flexible AC home charging and DC fast charging for quick top-ups.
2. The Smaller Engine Plot Twist: Way more power to conquer highway hills

Usually, when a car company downsizes an engine, you expect to lose some performance. Not here! The standard petrol-powered T2 relies on a 2.0-litre turbo engine making 245 PS and 375 Nm.

The new hybrid version downsizes to a 1.5-litre turbo engine, but couples it with two electric motors and a clever 3-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT). The result? A massive combined output of 360 PS and a mind-blowing 610 Nm of torque! That gives you sports-car levels of pulling power, making overtaking long trucks on uphill highway stretches completely effortless.
3. The Travel+ Cabin Luxury: It's basically a rolling living room

Long highway cruises demand top-tier comfort, and Jetour’s interior cabin details look ready to deliver. While full local specifications haven't been officially released just yet, we can look at the right-hand-drive PHEV variant currently sold in South Africa to see what we are likely getting.

According to South African automotive platform Cars.co.za, the premium SUV comes absolutely loaded with top-tier creature comforts:
- The Tech Setup: You can expect a massive 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment display paired with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.
- The Sound System: Audiophiles will love the inclusion of a high-end 12-speaker Sony sound system to blast your favorite road trip playlists.
- The Comforts: The cabin treats passengers to faux-leather upholstery, powered front seats, ambient lighting, wireless smartphone charging, a powered tailgate, and a massive panoramic glass sunroof.
- The Wheels & View: On the outside, it rides on large 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 255/55 tyres.
4. The L2 ADAS Safety Shield: Peace of mind for drowsy drives

Driving down a straight highway for four hours can get incredibly exhausting. To keep you and your family secure, the T2 i-DM PHEV comes fully loaded with a comprehensive Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite.
This high-tech safety setup can automatically manage your steering, adaptive braking, and cruise speeds in designated lane markings, giving you a crucial extra layer of safety backup. This is paired alongside 6 SRS airbags and the 540-degree panoramic view camera system to make parking your boxy off-roader at tight hotel parking spots completely stress-free.
Bonus: Snag a RM2,000 rebate if you book this weekend!
Jetour Malaysia has officially opened up booking lanes nationwide. If you drop a booking for the T2 i-DM PHEV during the ongoing KLIMS 2026 exhibition period, you can instantly lock in a RM2,000 launch rebate on your estimated RM168,888 price tag!
On top of that, Jetour promises a "comprehensive ownership and warranty package" to sweeten the deal.
To give you an idea of the peace of mind you're getting, the standard petrol-powered T2 already comes backed by a massive 10-year/one-million-km engine warranty, so you can definitely expect some seriously solid coverage for this new hybrid battery setup.
