2026 Honda City Facelift Buyer’s Guide: Specs, Upgrades, & RM3,000 Booking Reward

If you think this is just another minor facelift, look closer. Honda Malaysia just gave its popular 4th-gen City sedan its second major makeover, ditching the iconic chrome "unibrow" for a sportier body-matched front trim, leveling up its interior tech, and adding blind-spot monitoring.

Here is everything that’s changing, plus how to secure an early RM3,000 booking discount before it expires!

1. What’s New On The Exterior?

The most noticeable revision sits right up front. Honda has ditched the outgoing model's heavy chrome or gloss-black "unibrow" strip in favor of a body-coloured piece that flows seamlessly into the bonnet, housing the traditional rectangular Honda emblem.

Slimmer LED headlights anchor the front profile, connected on higher-end trims by a continuous light bar spanning the top of the trimmed-down grille. The front bumper has also been re-profiled with downturned central intake vents on standard variants and an upturned design on the sporty RS, both framed by body-coloured side aerodynamic fins.

At the rear, the City retains its signature trapezoidal taillights, but gains a redesigned lower bumper featuring a mesh-style central insert, a diffuser layout, vertical reflectors, and twin "tusk" accents. Step up to the RS variant, and you’ll get Civic RS-inspired blacked-out side mirrors, black door handles, and brand-new 16-inch turbine-style alloy wheels in a Berlina Black machined finish.

2. In-Cabin Upgrades & Tech Enhancements

While the layout of the dashboard remains familiar, Honda addressed three major cabin requests from tech-focused buyers:

  • 10-Inch Infotainment Display: The central display grows from 8 inches to a larger, sharper 10-inch touchscreen.
  • Ambient Lighting: New ambient light strips run across the dashboard layout for a more modern cabin feel at night.
  • 360° Multi-View Camera System: The surround-view monitor introduced earlier receives an updated multi-view interface for tighter urban parking maneuvers.

3. Safety Suite: Honda Sensing Meets Blind Spot Monitoring

The full Honda Sensing active safety suite continues to come standard across the range. Safety features include:

  • Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB)
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low Speed Follow (exclusive to the e:HEV RS)
  • Lane Centring Assist (LCA) & Road Departure Mitigation (RDM)
  • Front Departure Alert (FDA) & Auto High Beam (AHB)

A major addition for safety is the inclusion of Blind Spot Monitoring paired with Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), complementing Honda's ongoing LaneWatch camera system.

4. Engine Options: 1.5L i-VTEC vs. e:HEV Hybrid

The powertrain line-up remains unchanged, offering two distinct options based on your driving style:

Honda City 2026 Facelift Powertrain and Engine Specifications Comparison
Spec / Powertrain 1.5L i-VTEC Petrol 1.5L e:HEV RS Hybrid
Engine 1.5L DOHC i-VTEC 4-Cylinder 1.5L NA Atkinson-Cycle (Generator)
Power / Torque 121 PS @ 6,600 rpm / 145 Nm @ 4,300 rpm 109 PS / 253 Nm (Electric Motor Output)
Transmission Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) e-CVT (Single-speed with lock-up clutch)
Best For Traditional drivers seeking reliable daily response Urban commuters wanting maximum torque & low fuel burn

5. How To Claim The RM3,000 Early Bird Reward
