2026 Volvo EX30 Cross Country Malaysia: Price, Specs And 5 Things You Need To Know
Volvo EX30 has just gained a more adventurous sibling in Malaysia.
Volvo Car Malaysia has launched the new EX30 Cross Country, priced from RM218,888 without insurance. It is locally assembled and combines dual-motor all-wheel drive with extra ground clearance, Cross Country-specific chassis tuning and a more rugged look.
More importantly, the Cross Country now takes over the performance-focused, dual-motor AWD slot previously occupied by the EX30 Ultra Twin Performance, while the updated MY27 EX30 Ultra continues as the single-motor rear-wheel-drive option.
So where exactly does this new variant fit into the Malaysian EX30 line-up? Here are five things you need to know.
- Priced from RM218,888 without insurance.
- It becomes the new dual-motor AWD EX30 option in Malaysia.
- Produces 428 hp and 543 Nm.
- 0-100 km/h takes 3.7 seconds.
- 69 kWh NMC battery with up to 437 km WLTP range.
- Gets 19 mm more ground clearance than the standard EX30.
1. It Takes Over From The EX30 Ultra Twin Performance At RM218,888
The EX30 Cross Country is priced at RM218,888 without insurance in Peninsular Malaysia. That makes it RM10,000 cheaper than the outgoing EX30 Ultra Twin Performance, which was previously priced at RM228,888.
As Carz reported when the locally assembled EX30 arrived in 2025, the Malaysian CKD range previously consisted of the Ultra and Ultra Twin Performance. Volvo's updated MY27 line-up now pairs the Cross Country with the EX30 Ultra Single Motor, which has also been repriced to RM198,888.
Single-motor, rear-wheel drive
EX30 Cross Country: RM218,888
Dual-motor, all-wheel drive
That leaves a RM20,000 gap between the two current versions, but their characters are quite different.
| Spec | EX30 Cross Country | EX30 Ultra MY27 |
|---|---|---|
| Price | RM218,888 | RM198,888 |
| Drive | Dual-motor AWD | Single-motor RWD |
| Power | 428 hp | 272 hp |
| Torque | 543 Nm | 343 Nm |
| 0-100 km/h | 3.7 sec | 5.3 sec |
| WLTP range | 437 km | 475 km |
The Cross Country therefore trades some driving range for substantially stronger performance, AWD traction and its more adventurous setup.
The Cross Country now fills the dual-motor AWD role at a lower RM218,888 price, while adding its raised ride height and Cross Country treatment.

2. It Keeps The Dual-Motor Performance, But Adds The Cross Country Treatment
This might be the most entertaining part. The EX30 Cross Country uses a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup producing 428 hp and 543 Nm. That sends it from 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, with top speed electronically capped at 180 km/h.
But this isn't simply the old Twin Performance with some black cladding. Volvo says the steering software has been fine-tuned for optimised steering torque build-up, active return and damping, while the chassis has also been developed to better handle rougher surfaces.
3. You Get Up To 437 KM Of WLTP Range

Power comes from a 69 kWh NMC battery, of which 65 kWh is usable. Volvo quotes up to 437 km of WLTP range. That's slightly below the 450 km previously quoted for the Ultra Twin Performance, and well below the updated single-motor Ultra's 475 km figure, reflecting the Cross Country's dual-motor powertrain and more rugged setup.
For charging, the Cross Country accepts up to 175 kW DC, taking the battery from 10% to 80% in around 27 minutes. AC charging takes around eight hours using an 11 kW three-phase wallbox, while a 7.4 kW single-phase setup is listed at roughly 11 hours.
Usable capacity: 65 kWh
WLTP range: 437 km
Maximum DC charging: 175 kW
10-80% DC: 27 minutes
Top speed: 180 km/h
4. It Gets More Than Just Rugged Styling
Visually, the Cross Country is easy to tell apart from the standard EX30. It gets matte black lower bumpers and wheel-arch extensions, low-gloss Vapour Grey skid plates, a Cross Country nameplate on the C-pillar and an embossed CC logo at the rear.
Inside, Volvo pairs an Indigo cabin with textile and Nordico upholstery, denim decor panels and blue air-vent trim.

Standard equipment includes:
- 12.3-inch centre display
- Built-in Google services
- Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
- Harman Kardon Premium Sound
- Pilot Assist
- Blind Spot Information System with Steer Assist
- Collision Avoidance and Mitigation
- Intersection Autobrake
- Rear Cross Traffic Alert
- Park Pilot Assist
- 360-degree camera with 3D view
Volvo also lists a panoramic sunroof, powered front seats, two-zone climate control, Digital Key Plus and a power-operated tailgate.
There's also a removable rear storage box that doubles as a waste bin, while Volvo's handy "Will it Fit" graphic on the tailgate gives owners an idea of what can fit inside.
5. It Is Built For Buyers Who Want More Than Just A City EV
The Cross Country gives the EX30 a more adventurous personality without pretending to turn it into a hardcore off-roader. What you get instead is extra ground clearance, AWD traction, revised chassis tuning and rugged detailing, while retaining the EX30's compact dimensions and city-friendly technology.
The Malaysian EX30 Cross Country is available in Cloud Blue, Crystal White and Vapour Grey. Buyers can also choose from a long list of lifestyle accessories.
- Roof basket: RM3,795
- Roof box: RM5,601
- Digital interior rear-view mirror: RM5,682
- Load carriers: RM2,144
- Dash camera: RM2,848, plus installation
- V2L adapter: coming soon
Another launch-day update is Volvo Car Malaysia's new Digital Service Booking system, allowing customers to schedule service appointments through the Volvo Malaysia website or Volvo Cars App.
The service starts with authorised retailers in the Klang Valley, with plans to expand to other regions.
BEV battery warranty: 8 years or 160,000 km
At RM218,888, the EX30 Cross Country is now the performance-focused and lifestyle-oriented choice in Volvo Malaysia's two-variant EX30 range.
The MY27 Ultra costs RM20,000 less and offers the longer 475 km WLTP range, while the Cross Country counters with dual-motor AWD, far stronger performance and a more rugged setup.
And compared to the Ultra Twin Performance it effectively succeeds, buyers now pay RM10,000 less while gaining the extra ride height and Cross Country treatment, albeit with a slightly lower quoted driving range.
