Honda HR-V

The Honda HR-V is one of the household names in the local B-segment market. With the latest model, it comes in four variants; the 1.5L S, 1.5L E, 1.5L V and 1.5L RS . Prices range from RM114,800 to RM140,800. 

The dashboard maintains the overall exclusive cabin feel with its all-black finish that is minimal yet sleek similar to the previous releases. 

All the variants offer analog instrument clusters that feature the Advanced Multi-Information Combination Meter. Meanwhile, the Hybrid variant offers sophisticated hybrid indicator dials similar to the Honda Jazz and City hybrids.

All the variants come with 5 seats and the 1.8 V and 1.8 RS are finished with combination leather. The driver seat for the 1.8 V and 1.8 RS is equipped with a 8-way power seat to ensure the utmost comfort and convenience. The rear passenger seats are equipped with Honda’s  ULTRA seats, which enables three various modes for the perfect storage space.

The HR-V offers spacious space for the driver as well as the passengers, with their unique Japanese space-saving concept. In its class, it is considered the most spacious vehicle. 

The vehicle has a spacious glove compartment that can accommodate any necessities as well as several storage compartments in the centre console and side of the front seats. 

There are four cup holders altogether in the center console and second row armrests, as well as four bottle holders for all four doors. 

The HR-V has a total of two USB charging ports and one 12-volt power socket located in the center console and at the rear. The vehicle is also fitted with one HDMI port, located beside the USB ports.

The newest generation of the Honda HR-V introduces a modern feel as it has gotten a facelift that includes a reworked bumper as well as a new grille. This rework embodies a sporty look which definitely appeals to both genders.

To name a few, the 1.8 RS has the following active safety features; Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Automatic Brake Hold (ABH), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Electric Parking Brake (EPB), Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) and Honda LaneWatch Camera (LWC).

The passive safety features include six airbags located at the front, side and curtain, seat-belts with height adjustable anchorages for the front as well as rear ISOFIX child seats anchor points. 

All the variants come with two drive modes, which includes Normal and Eco modes excluding the Hybrid variant which gets an additional Sports mode. 

All the variants feature a 7-inch Display Audio which supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also features Bluetooth and USB connectivity.

The 1.8 Hybrid variant features a 1.8-litre four-cylinder and Single Overhead Camshaft (SOHC) petrol engine which generates 140 hp at 6,500 rpm and 172 Nm at 4,300 rpm.  

All the 1.8 variants come with the Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) as standard while the 1.5 Hybrid variant is equipped with a 7-Speed Dual Clutch Transmission (7DCT).

Power is sent to the two front wheels for all the variants.

The 1.8 RS variant is able to approximately accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in 10.8 seconds while the Hybrid cuts the sprint shorter at 9.5 seconds.

The fuel consumption is approximately around 5.5 l/100km.

Convenience features include the Honda LaneWatch Camera, Smart Entry with push start button, One-Touch Lane Change, power adjustable door mirrors and cruise control. 

Rear air vents available for the second row occupants. 

Thanks to HR-V’s soft drive and it being spacious, both drivers and passengers are able to enjoy a seamless drive. 

The sound insulation in the car is on a moderate level with the help of its interior space which allows the noise to be dispersed better. 

With all the competition that is emerging, Honda still proves that the HR-V reigns with its practicality and performance with its upgrades and new variants. This is why it's not a  surprise that the HR-V is the best in its class.
