Face-lifted Honda City Hatchback Open For Bookings, Q2 Launch Planned
-full.jpg)
The face-lifted Honda City Hatchback is now opened for bookings, and will launch within this quarter (Q2) says Honda Malaysia.
Debuting in neighbouring Thailand earlier this year, the face-lifted Honda City Hatchback was tipped for entry in to Malaysia soon after. Today, we’ve got confirmation of which following Honda Malaysia’s announcement stating that the refreshed model is now opened for bookings at all authorised dealers nationwide.
First launched locally back in 2021, the City Hatchback’s entry as a successor to the popular Honda Jazz proved pivotal for the Japanese H-marque in the local market. According to Honda Malaysia, the firm saw over 28,700 units of the City sedan’s de-booted twin shifted locally since said its debut mentioned.
Now, the firm expects the same momentum to continue with this refreshed iteration, which Honda Malaysia says will launch very soon – within this current quarter (Q2), in fact. For this refresh, Honda Malaysia also highlighted several key tweaks endowed across all variants – range-topping e:HEV RS variant included.

Similar to the Thai-spec version shown earlier this year, the e:HEV RS hybrid range-topper will get a redesigned front bumper, new honeycomb grille, plus new 16-inch wheels dressed in 'Berlina Black' paint.
For the electrified range-topper mentioned, it’s set to feature a sleeker and sportier look thanks to its redesigned honeycomb front grille, updated front bumper design, new 16-inch wheels finished in ‘Berlina Black’ hue, plus a host of updated exterior trims. You see much of these changes primed in the Thai-spec model we detailed earlier by clicking here.
This sporty hybrid is also set to retain the same e:HEV powertrain as before, which consists of a 1.5-litre 4-cyl petrol mill paired with an e-motor and battery system. As a refresher, the combustion half is rated with respectable outputs of 121 PS and 145 NM, but serves primarily as a generator to charge up the latter electrified half of things that provides the primary drive.

The Honda Sensing ADAS suite will continue to be standard kit across all variants, but it sees a new Lead Car Departure Notification (LDCN) feature added in all, along with Low Speed Follow (LSF) for the e:HEV RS.
As for safety, Honda Malaysia also notes the Honda Sensing active driver assistance (ADAS) and advanced safety suite will be brimmed as standard kit across all variants. Said package has been updated with a new Lead Car Departure Notification (LCDN) feature added, whilst the range-topping e:HEV RS guise sees Low Speed Follow (LSF) function added to its Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) suite.
Beyond what we’ve just detailed, Honda Malaysia did not elaborate much. Expect more details once the model officially launches, which we reckon will take place sometime next month. We will have more details then, so watch this space for updates…
