50% Discount For Selected PDRM Summonses In Penang This Weekend

The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) has offered to reduce selected summonses by up to 50% in conjunction with the Madani Rakyat Program 2024 North Zone carnival happening this weekend.

Said carnival takes place from 3 May to 5 May at the Sungai Nibong Festival Grounds, Penang, from 9AM to 4PM.  The Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) posted an announcement about the program on their Facebook page yesterday.

In the post, the Ministry said that this is an opportunity for those to settle their overdue summonses and avoid being blacklisted or blocked for road tax and license renewal.

However, as stated above, this discount is only given to selected summons. CariCarz.com has been reliably informed that  the discount does not apply for offences such as running red lights, abusing emergency lanes, passing too closely, and crossing double lines

Discounts are also not available for non-compoundable summonses, court appearance summonses, lorry-related summonses, modified exhaust-related summonses, and summonses issued during Ops Selamat.

The payment for the discounted summonses can only be made on the grounds of the carnival program, thus this could be a big advantage for Penangites to clear off their summons. For others, this is perhaps one good reason to take a road trip up to the island state this weekend.

The location will also host a number of additional events, such as product sales, health screenings, exhibits from PDRM and other government organizations, and lucky draws.

Those keen to pay up on their summonses at this carnival are advised to check the MyBayar PDRM page before attending the event to check on the pending summonses that need clearing. KR
