- Reasonably Priced 2021 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Luxury Sedan
Mercedes has released the price tags for the 2021 redesigned Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Luxury Sedan in the U.S.A.
Starting with the entry level variant, the S 500 4Matic Luxury Line has a price tag of USD$ 109, 800 (RM 451,442) which excludes destination charges and extras. As for the longer and more luxurious variant, the S 580 4Matic has a price tag of USD$ 184, 900 (RM 760, 216).
To start off, the variants’ subscripts can be deciphered as such. Instead of displacement, horsepower, or torque figures, 580 refers to a 4.0-liter V8 with dual turbochargers and 48-volt mild hybridization. The 4Matic needs no explanation, as the 4WD configuration is a familiarity with the Merc brand.
For a Mercedes parading the Maybach brand, luxury and comfort is a top priority. Therefore, power is not the focus as the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is only producing 496 hp of power and 700 Nm of torque, which is slightly underwhelming for a vehicle this heavy.
Other than that, the ‘Airmatic’ air suspension and active road noise cancellation are also a major highlight for the new models. Alongside the newly installed rear-axle steering which improves the agility of the vehicle on narrow streets and at low speeds.
As for the stance, the 2021 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Luxury Sedan has a wheelbase that is 178 mm longer than the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Moving into the inside, the luxury is extended with calf rest massaging seats that also have a neck and shoulder heating system.
Luxury is nothing without entertainment, thus, as a standard feature installed is the MBUX High-End Rear Seat Entertainment system. Installed in the rear also are two 11.6-inch touchscreens, two wireless headsets, and an MBUX tablet.
Further amenities that can be found inside are heated armrests, a rear-seat airbag, phone charging pads as well as the Air Balance cabin fragrance system. These are all standard features that come with the 2021 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Luxury Sedan.
The S 580 4Matic variant is truly a definition of luxury. In the interior front, driven by the chauffeur obviously, is able to access information through the 3D instrument cluster, augmented reality head-up display, and a 12.8-inch OLED multimedia touchscreen display.
In case all of these are not up to satisfactory, the Maybach division offers more exclusivity in terms of 10 two-tone paint finishes with a dividing line, a four-seat configuration with a continuous rear centre console, electronically-operated rear doors, heated and cooled cup holders, and champagne flutes.
Any interested big shots out there, who want to get their hands on this luxury deal are able to do so, as the 2021 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Luxury Sedan will be available at the dealerships in the U.S this coming summer.
