A new line-up of SUVs adorning their new iconic Lion logo catered for the Chinese market was recently unveiled by Dongfeng Peugeot at the 2021 Shanghai Motor Show.

Peugeot’s chief executive officer Linda Jackson commented, "We have a strong global ambition. Peugeot will leverage its upscale, electrified models and new products, including the new SUVs, to set new standards and deliver an exceptional driving experience. China is one of the most important markets for Peugeot.”

The company’s new SUV line-up is manufactured in China and they reflect the ‘designed by Peugeot, made for China’ strategy and are the basis of the new French Chic trend of the brand's new models.

Its new SUV range comprises three models, which are the Peugeot 4008, Peugeot 4008 PHEV and Peugeot 5008.

Price tags are as such, the 4008 ranges from 169,700 yuan (RM 107,568) to 233,700 yuan (RM 148,128), the 4008 PHEV starts at 249,700 yuan (RM 158,270) to 259,700 yuan (RM 164,542) and the 5008 at 187,700 yuan (RM 118,929) to 263,700 yuan (RM 167,143).

Also sharing the limelight, are Peugeot’s electrified range that includes the Peugeot e-2008, the new Peugeot 4008 PHEV 4WD and the Peugeot 508 L PHEV sedan.

These new French Chic SUVs distinguish themselves through four standards, design, quality, dynamism and connectivity.

Featuring design elements derived from the European GT versions, they can be seen with a grille that portrays a horizontal pattern and blends into the sides of the body to create a commanding presence. The overall exterior silhouette combines elegance, dynamism and feline grace.

As for the illumination, the vertical LED lights on the front come with Peugeot’s latest ‘fang’ design and the rear lights feature its iconic ‘three-claw’ signature.

Moving inside, to remain as the benchmark for the C-SUV segment in China, the Peugeot i-Cockpit has been significantly enhanced. The new 10-inch high-definition central touch screen is now equipped with piano keys.

To enhance the driving dynamics even further, inside on the driver’s side is equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a multifunction compact steering wheel. Also, transmitting all power from the mill is the smooth Aisin EAT8 automatic gearbox.

Jackson concluded, “The new 4008 and 5008 embody the best of Peugeot's design and technology, including the i-Cockpit, which changes with each launch to provide an unparalleled driving experience. These new SUVs will most definitely meet the expectations of Chinese customers."

Dongfeng Peugeot is embarking on a new chapter with its new French Chic SUVs line-up. The brand is revolutionizing a new lifestyle for Chinese consumers, imbued with French elegance, and providing its customers with quality overall products.
