“Hey Mercedes, Play My Favourite Songs!” Mercedes-Benz, Now With Apple Music In Specific Models!
Mercedes-Benz recently collaborated with Apple Music to integrate Apple Music into the Mercedes me connect service, “Online Music, “ and the MBUX infotainment system.
So, what does Apple Music offer? After connecting your Mercedes me account to the car, subscribers of Apple Music will be able to have access to more than 75 million songs, thousands of editorially curated playlists, and daily selections from the world’s best music experts, that consist of all of the artists and hosts broadcasting across its Apple Music 1, Apple Music Hits, and Apple Music Country global live-stream radio stations.
Not only that, just by saying “Hey Mercedes” using the MBUX voice assistant from the steering wheel control or directly on display, drivers can request for songs, albums, playlists or even radio stations.
"We use the possibilities of digitization through over-the-air updates to make the time our customers spend in their Mercedes as entertaining and fulfilling as possible. The seamless integration of online music streaming offers customers digital access to their music enjoyment,” said Mercedes-Benz AG member of the board of management and CTO, Sajjad Khan.
“With Apple Music, we have now fully integrated another service that fits perfectly into the Mercedes-Benz online music portfolio," he added.
For new C-Class and S-Class owners, this update will be available once production begins this month and will be available for EQS owners this summer.
However, existing C-Class and S-Class owners whose vehicles already equipped with the latest generation of MBUX will receive the Apple Music integration with an over-the-air update later this year.
Following that, owners can get their “Online Music” service by linking their particular music streaming service from Apple Music, Amazon Music, Spotify and TIDAL.
Customers interested in purchasing in-car streaming data can do so from a mobile network provider (MNO) through the Mercedes me portal or activate it for the S-Class, C-Class and EQS via their smartphone data plan.
