Hyundai Introduces Extended Warranty Programme, Exclusive For Specific Hyundai Models!

Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) recently introduced its Extended Warranty Programme that are exclusive to specific Hyundai models such as AD/MD Elantra, LF Sonata, TL/LM Tucson, DM Santa Fe and TQ Starex.

However, some of the conditions are that the expired manufacturer’s warranty is no more than 8 years from the manufacturing date, as well as has a travelled mileage of under 300,000km on the fifth year from the car’s purchased date.

It works just like a new car’s warranty but will require a renewal every year and will only cover the mileage of not more than 30,000km a year.

“Most extended warranty programmes by a car brand are offered by premium and luxury car brands but we are offering this programme for Hyundai cars as we are confident of the quality of our vehicles and we want to help our customers maintain their cars longer with peace of mind,” said Managing Director of HSDM, Mr Low Yuan Lung.

This extended warranty covers internal and primary components of the transmission system as well as other electrical components of the engine, transmission, motoring, and modular parts of the vehicles, provided that the customers make their yearly renewal of RM1,280. Not only that, it also covers complimentary repairs and part replacement.

The total claims aggregate has been set to RM 50,000, with the coverage limit per claim is limited to RM 10,000. However, any items claimed beforehand can be claimed again should they be proven faulty.

Other than that, all vehicles registered are required to have a good service record with Hyundai authorised service centres. Following that, it is essential that owners send in their vehicles to an authorised service centre for a routine service according to HSDM’s recommended service interval.

At the moment, it is only available at all Sime Darby Auto Hyundai (SDAH) branches. However, it is said that the programme will soon be extended to other authorised service centres nationwide.
