The retail price of RON97 petrol is reported to have dropped by three sen compared to last week, from December 2 to December 8.

This makes the new price of RON97 RM3.02 per liter compared to RM3.05 previously enforced.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Finance informed that the retail price of RON95 petrol remained at RM2.05 per liter while diesel also remained sold at RM2.15 per liter.

The Ministry of Finance (MOF) said it will maintain the RON95 ceiling price at RM2.05 per liter and diesel at RM2.15 per liter even if the actual market price for both products increased above the ceiling price level that had been set.

"The government will continue to monitor oil prices and take appropriate measures to safeguard the well-being of the people," he said in a statement.
