Charging ahead with its EV plans, Ford’s first-ever all-electric vehicle is set for the next big step in its career, the Mustang Mach-E’s manufacturing in China.

Playing a significant role in Ford's strategy for the Chinese market, the brand says that the Chinese-built Mach-E’s will be sold through Ford's direct sales network of electric vehicle city stores.

Currently, Ford is on track to open 25 stores in major metropolitan areas by the end of 2021 and plans to have over 100 stores operating within five years.

Now that it is built in China, the Mach-E is gearing up for some significant changes, and these upgrades include bigger batteries and increased range.

Interestingly, it will get the same level of technology and performance as the ones built in the U.S, including standard intelligent driver assist hardware and L2 intelligent driving assist.

Moreover, according to the China light-duty vehicle test cycle, the Ford Mustang Mach-E RWD Long Range will offer a maximum driving distance of 385 miles (620 km).

As for the most powerful version in the line-up, the GT model will gallop from 0 to 100 km/h in only 3.6 seconds.

Notably, the first Mach-E recently rolled off the assembly line at Changan Ford's manufacturing plant in Chongqing and will be ready for local delivery by the end of the year.

Orders for the Mustang Mach-E RWD Long Range, RWD Premium Long Range, RWD Standard Range, and GT First Edition are now open to the public.

Patrons who place their orders before the end of the year will get free roadside assistance, battery warranties, referral bonuses and financing incentives.

To wrangle up, the Mustang Mach-E has proven so well-liked that it's even joining the police force, locally and abroad.
