- RFID Begins Its Operation Tomorrow!
Attention! Starting at 10 pm tomorrow, a route based on Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology will be implemented along the North-South Highway from Juru (Penang) to Skudai (Johor).
"Currently, we provide at least one RFID lane in Juru and Skudai including in all 83 toll plazas along the North-South Highway," PLUS Malaysia Bhd (PLUS) chief executive officer Datuk Zakaria Ahmad Zabidi stated.
However, DO NOT PANIC! PLUS has said it only provides at least one RFID lane in Juru and Skudai. So, this means the Touch ‘n Go card lane and SmartTAG devices are still operating as usual.
Based on PLUS records, there are about 1.5 million highway customers who use RFID Touch 'n Go to pay tolls on most highways, especially in the Klang Valley area. Many have also switched to RFID, where it has more advantages.
By using RFID, we can reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection through contactless transactions and offering digital cash security as well as available for cashless top-ups via Touch ‘n Go eWallet.
To purchase RFID stickers, you all can look them up online through Touch ‘n Go eWallet, Touch‘n Go portal or authorised marketing agents. Purchase and installation of RFID tags can be made at 39 locations throughout Peninsular Malaysia.
