BMW Group Malaysia and Millennium Welt have introduced two new BMW I Charging stations in Rawang's Gamuda Gardens, which will assist people in the area as well as providing electric vehicle owners across the country an ownership experience.

"The introduction of these new BMW i Charging facilities in Gamuda Gardens underlines our commitment, in tandem with BMW Group Malaysia, to provide electric vehicle owners across the country an ownership experience that is the hallmark of the BMW i.

"We are confident that the future of mobility in Malaysia is electric as we continue to see a rise in uptake and interest for electrified BMW vehicles amongst our customers," said Millennium Welt managing director Bryan Wong.

"We are thrilled to be able to provide residents of Gamuda Gardens and the town around it easy access to two new BMW i Charging facilities, alongside our dealer, Millennium Welt," he added.

When it comes to expanding the availability of charging infrastructures across Malaysia, BMW Group Malaysia managing director Hans de Visser said the company is looking to go beyond public malls and landmarks to equip townships and residential areas, where there is also a high demand for access to charging facilities among electric vehicle users.

"This shift towards electrification also inspired our partnerships with like-minded industry players who also make environmental, social and governance (ESG) central to their business operations and plans," he added.

Meanwhile, Gamuda Land product management unit executive director Jess Teng mentioned that "the installation of the charging facilities which encourages greener modes of transport underscores Gamuda Land's approach to ESG principles under the Gamuda Green Plan 2025."

"We have mindfully thought through the masterplan of Gamuda Gardens township, which includes climate-responsive design towards a green future," she added.
