- Hyundai, JTC To Build Smart Mobility in Singapore
Through a joint effort, JTC and Hyundai Motor Group have agreed to work on Singapore’s future generation in the arena of mobility, advanced city solutions and intelligent manufacturing.
Hyundai Motor Group will provide their mobility expertise based on the analysis and demands of Jurong Innovation Districts, while JTC provides the critical data needed to support the research.
The study involves electric vehicles, autonomous vehicles, or any other type of transport solutions suitable for any traffic situation.

Developed by JTC, the district measures a 600-hectare area comprising the research institutes, capability developers, technology and training providers, alongside new factories.
With the achieved results, the car marque wishes to utilise its findings, especially in developing intelligent mobility solutions which may be deployed in next-generation industrial estates.
"Through such testbeds working with partners here, we hope to develop smart mobility models and guidelines that can ultimately benefit JTC’s future smart estates," said JTC chief executive officer Tan Boon Khai.

President and Chief Innovation Officer for the Group mentioned that Hyundai Motor Group sees this project as a stepping stone for future smart city projects in Singapore.
Towards the end of 2022, the HMGICS hub is expected to finish. The innovation hub also will lead the car marque’s effort to transform mobility of people and goods, support advancement in smart city initiatives, and develop future industrial platforms.
