- e-BusKK, Sabah’s First Electric Bus Service!
Recently, Sabah Government unveiled its first Electric Bus service, e-BusKK.
e-BusKK also integrated with CCTV cameras for passenger safety, global positioning system (GPS) and driver monitoring system.
On top of that, the locals in Sabah could get free rides along the 6 months period along the Sepanggar-Menara Kinabalu-city centre route.

Part of a 6-month pilot project under the state government’s strategic investment arm Qhazanah Sabah Berhad (QSB), the business will expand next year with more buses and routes.
As of now, only one is provided and feedbacks from passengers getting on e-BusKK will be taken.
Apart from providing eco-friendly travel, e-BusKK carries a capacity of up to 54 passengers provides easier access for the elderly and persons with disabilities on wheelchairs as it is equipped with a ramp.
According to local news agency, the project was under a partnership between Qhazanah Sabah Berhad (QSB) and Gemilang Coachwork Sdn. Bhd.
The project was meant to assess the sustainability and feasibility of electric buses to support public transportation system in Sabah and part of mission to reduce carbon emissions in Kota Kinabalu in the next 3 years.
