Due to the overwhelming response, VOLVO Car Malaysia has announced that online orders for the 2022 XC40 Recharge Pure Electric (RPE) are now closed.

Once more details are announced, the company will resume taking orders with the introduction of the 2023 model.

Test drive reservations however are still available on the brand's official website.

Since its local launch in March this year, Volvo Car Malaysia's first locally assembled (CKD) fully electric vehicle (EV) has received over 400 orders and over 120 units have been delivered to their respective owners nationwide.

"Just a couple of months ago we launched our first fully electric car and announced the local assembly of EV cars. We have started delivery of the cars to our customers since April, providing them with a vehicle that allows them the freedom to move in a personal, sustainable and safe way," said Volvo Car Malaysia managing director Charles Frump.

Based on the XC40 compact premium SUV model, the XC40 RPE features a fully electric all-wheel-drive powertrain that offers a range of up to 418 km.

Priced at RM262,459.75 it is available in five colour options – Black Stone, Crystal White Pearl, Denim Blue, Glacier Silver and Sage Green.

It comes included with a charging cable, service package (years/km), 5 years vehicle warranty, 8 years HV battery warranty, and 5 years roadside assistance.
