- Woman Killed In Bus-Trailer Crash
A bus passenger was killed early this morning when the vehicle collided with a trailer at Kilometer (KM) 425.8 of the North-South Expressway (PLUS) heading south.
Hamaizah Fadzilah, 54, was killed at the scene of the accident around 4.30 a.m.
The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) received an emergency call about the incident at 4.32 a.m., according to director Norazam Khamis.
Following that, he said, a team of 15 officers and members from the Bukit Sentosa Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) with machinery were dispatched to the scene.
"According to preliminary reports, the accident involved a sightseeing bus carrying 40 passengers heading south, which was believed to have collided with the back of a 20-tonne trailer travelling in the same direction."
"There was a female passenger in the front seat, trapped in the crushed part," he said today in a statement.
According to Norazam, the team immediately conducted an operation to remove the victim, while the bus driver and other uninjured passengers exited the vehicle and gathered in a safe location.
"The two bus and lorry drivers, ages 54 and 70, respectively, as well as other bus passengers, were not trapped and were reported to have suffered no injuries."
"At 5.13 a.m., the trapped victim was successfully removed and confirmed dead by the medical team," he said.
He stated that the victim's body was then turned over to police for further investigation.
