Malaysian police detained a man for modifying a Nissan Skyline R32 to resemble a police patrol car. The car was previously on display at the 2022 Art of Speed custom car and bike show at MAEPS Serdang.

According to Assistant Commissioner Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof of the District Police, the Skyline R32 has gone viral on Malaysian social media. According to the daily Harian Metro, the car was made to look like a police car, complete with a light bar with the official police shield and the words "POLIS" on the doors.

Wan Kamarul said that investigations into the video led to the detention of a 45-year-old suspect who owns a car accessory shop. The suspect was detained at 10.30 p.m, along with the car, a set of keys, and an event participation slip.

“Further investigation into the case will be conducted under Section 89 of the Police Act 1967,” he added.

For the record, section 89 of the Police Act pertains to unlawful possession, manufacture, sale or supply of articles supplied to police officers and unauthorised use of police uniform.
