Lotus Is Going Green; Aim To Phase Out Gas Models From Next Year And Go All-Electric
Lotus opted to phase out gas models from the following year and switch to all-electric vehicles, showing that its aim of turning completely green is progressing well.
Additionally, Lotus launched "Driving Change," a new Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Charter whose four pledges will guide the corporate policies, in order to be a responsible global organisation.
The carmaker wants to forecast where it will be at its 80th anniversary ten years from now. As a result, Group Lotus' development goals and transitional strategies are collectively referred to as Vision80. In the long run, Vision80 will enable Lotus to advance from being a "UK sports car manufacturer" to a global performance car company.
Recently, Lotus unveiled the Evija electric hypercar, a 1,970-hp, four-motor monster with a 250-mile range. It was followed by the milder Eletre SUV, which has 591 horsepower and a 373-mile range. A second SUV, a lightweight sports car, and three new electric vehicles from the UK brand are also due to be released for customers to choose from. The next four years should see the release of every model.
In addition, Lotus also powers all of its UK locations with renewable and environmentally friendly energy sources. Additionally, the site's human waste is processed and put to use in local agriculture.
It is clear that Lotus is ahead of the game when it comes to being net-zero, and ideally this will attract the attention of other significant players in the automotive industry, notably sports car manufacturers. Stopping the state of our environment and ecology from deteriorating requires a collective change.
