Those who want to book the Honda HR-V, which Honda Malaysia recently debuted, appear to have a long wait before receiving the car keys.

The demands for this model have been massive in Malaysia!

Honda Malaysia recently revealed the most recent waiting period is more than 12 months, despite the fact that bookings were only launched in early June with just a limited exhibition held for a small group of the public.

Based on an internal memo circulated, the number of existing bookings is so high because most individuals do not want to pass up the opportunity to acquire a vehicle sales tax exemption which ended on June 30 recently.

To recap, the Honda HR-V is available in four variants: the Grade S version, which lacks a turbo, the Grade E and Grade V versions, which have turbochargers, and the RS e: HEV version, which employs a hybrid drivetrain and costs between RM120,000 and RM138,000.

All four variations are powered by a variation of Honda’s 1.5 litre L engine,, albeit they will all have completely different configurations; Malaysia may be the only country in the world to receive all three. The L15ZE, a naturally aspirated DOHC i-VTEC four-cylinder engine producing 121 PS at 6,600 rpm and 145 Nm of torque at 4,300 rpm, is used in the base S model. It is also featured in the petrol City versions. This is 21 PS and 27 Nm less than the previous HR-V, which had a bigger 1.8 litre engine.

Well, do you mind waiting for more than a year to finally drive your dream HRV?
