2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV Leaked During Ad Shoot

Chevrolet is getting set to launch the all-electric Silverado pick-up truck next year, and it appears to be filming an advertisement for the Ultium-based electric truck.

The totally uncovered electric Silverado was spotted on the move in Helena, Montana where it was trailed by a matte black Porsche Cayenne camera car - the usual type used to shoot high-budget commercials (they weren't filming this for social media).

Chevrolet has worked hard to make the Silverado EV appealing to consumers with its futuristic look, Ultium platform features, and several smart gadgets. Somehow, the effort has been somewhat rewarded as the company received 150,000 bookings for said electric pick-up truck.

Because this is a truck, Chevrolet isn't just targeting private purchasers, the famed bow-tie marque is eyeing up commercial fleet purchases too, and this is assisting the GM-owned brand in reaching high booking numbers  rapidly. According to the firm, each fleet customer orders more than 200 electric Silverados on average.

The Ford F-150 Lightning, the Chevy Silverado EV's major and direct rival, has already been on the market for a while now with thousands already delivered by Ford. In fact, in its first full month on the market, Ford reportedly sold a total of 1,837 units of the electric Silverado's rival. Ford CEO Jim Farley also stated in January this year that the business had almost 200,000 Lightning bookings, and in mid-May, the manufacturer closed the order books for the 2022 model year.

The Silverado EV and F-150 Lightning are comparable in many aspects, but they are also considerably distinct as the former rides on GM's rather unique EV platform. For instance,  the Chevrolet Silverado EV comes equipped with rear-wheel steering plus an air suspension system, both of which are absent on the rivalling Ford.
