- Hyundai continues to develop internal combustion engines (ICE)
Hyundai announces that it will continue to produce combustion engines due to the lack of EV charging infrastructure.
Last year, a rumour circulated that Hyundai was about to discontinue all internal combustion engine development however the Korean car maker denies it.
As stated, Hyundai will only sell EVs after 2035 at least in Europe.
‘’We are continuing for next emission levels [in internal combustion development]. We have no other choices. I mean, we are not giving up on combustion engines, right, we are a global player’’ said Hyundai group’s Executive Technical Advisor, Albert Biermann.
However, he claims that the company must continue to develop fuel-burning engines if only Hyundai wanted to maintain its position on the global automotive stage.
